66% of respondents agreed with the statement that Holodomor in 1932-33 was the genocide against Ukrainian people. 22% did not agree with the statement, 12% - have not decided.
We should also pay attention to fluctuations of public opinion in relation to this issue. Thus, in March 2010 61% of respondents agreed with the thesis of genocide, in April 2011 – 58%, in October 2012 – 59%, in October 2013 it increased to 66%.
The thesis of genocide is shared by more than 80% of the residents of the West, Centre and North, as well as more than half of respondents in the East and 40% - in the South and the Donbas. Growth rate occurred in all regions except the South.
The thesis is shared by nearly 90% supporters of O.Tiahnybok, Y.Tymoshenko and A.Yatsenyuk, nearly 90% supporters of V.Klychko and P.Poroshenko, nearly 50% supporters of V.Yanukovych and nearly 40% supporters of P.Symonenko.
The target audience of the research: the population of Ukraine aged from 18 and older. Optional quantity: 2000 respondents. The methods of investigation: personal formalized interview according to the questionnaire (face to face). Margin of error for the values close to 50% is less than 2.2%, for the values close to 30% – less than 2%, for the values close to 10% – less than 1.3%.
