«NATIONAL TOP». Country where one would like to be born

The peculiarity of the method lies in the fact that respondents do not receive any lists or tips, people express their opinions solely on open issues, giving their own versions. In April, we are presenting the issue "Country where one would like to be born."

 

According to the result of the survey, nearly a half of respondents (48%) if they had a chance to choose the country of their birth, would choose Ukraine. 9% of respondents would choose Russia, 5% - Germany, 4% - the USA, 2% - the UK, Italy, Switzerland, France, 1% - Poland, Canada, Sweden, Belarus. However, 2% - would choose the USSR, about 4% - other countries.

 

16% of respondents could not answer the question.

 

Overall 15% of respondents, if they had a chance to choose the country of their birth, would choose EU countries, other 4% - the USA. On the other hand about 10% - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and 2% - would choose the USSR.

 

Russia was often chosen in Donbas (18%), in the South (13%) and in the East (13%) of the country. Germany, the USA, Italy, the UK – in the West and in the North of the country. However, Ukraine was often chosen in the Center of the country.

 

The younger are the respondents, the fewer among them would like to be born in Ukraine: only 40% of young people would choose Ukraine, while among elderly people Ukraine was chosen 1.5 times more often. Every tenth young Ukrainian would like to be born in the USA, slightly fewer young respondents - in Germany and in the UK. Women are more attached to Ukraine than men. The latter often chose Russia, Germany and the USA.

 

Interestingly, every tenth voter of the CPU would like to be born in the USSR. Every sixth voter of the Party of Regions and of the Communist Party would like to be born in Russia. Instead, every sixth voter of UDAR would choose Germany. Voters of Batkivshchyna and Freedom appeared to be the most devoted to the country - almost 60% of them would choose Ukraine if they had the opportunity to choose the country of their birth. 

 

The target audience of the research: the population of Ukraine aged from 18 and older. Optional quantity: 2000 respondents. The methods of investigation: personal formalized interview according to the questionnaire (face to face). Measure of inaccuracy for the values close to 50% is less than 2.8%, for the values close to 30% – less than 2.6%, for the values close to 10% – less than 1.7%. The period of completion: 22-28 of February 2013
